LSMNJ has a new opportunity available for a Fund Development Coordinator! This position is full-time with excellent benefits! Located at our Corporate Office in Burlington, this position will be fundamental in supporting the philanthropic efforts of all our health and social service programs.


General Responsibilities


Oversees the administrative need of the Fund Development. Including data entry, direct mail, budget / invoices, reporting, corporate sponsorship outreach and special events.


Essential Duties


  1. Supports the mission and values of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, which is: Through the power of the Holy Spirit, and in response to God’s love as revealed in the Gospel, the mission of the Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is to serve those in New Jersey who hurt, are in need, or have limited choices.
  2. Displays knowledge of agency services and programs with internal and external constituencies.
  3. Office management:
    1. Process invoices and track expenses for Development dept.
    2. Manage and maintain postage balance, records and permit information on bulk mail
    3. Manage the office of Fund Development, including maintaining and ensuring adequate supplies for the office, maintaining printer.
    4. Prepare and maintain Fund Development calendar
    5. Assists in coordinating projects with outside resources such as graphic designers, printers, mail houses, etc.
  4. Raiser’s Edge (RE)
    1. Manage and maintain the RE database. Serve as database administrator (ie input incoming donations, produce leter, etc.)
    2. Coordinate any updates or implementation of new programs in RE
    3. Enter expenses for appeals and events in RE
    4. Globally add all appeals / event participation to events
    5. Participate in ongoing training in RE
  5. Development Operations (in coordination with the VP)
    1. Produce gift and pledge acknowledgement and reminder letters; honor / memorial notification
    2. Produce monthly birthday cards for donors
    3. Develop materials including brochures, advertisements, announcements, newsletters, web site, etc.
    4. Assist with grateful patient program, employee giving, Mission Champions
  6. Reporting:
    1. Prepare monthly comparison reports
    2. Reconcile monthly reports with the Finance Department
    3. Keeps accurate accounting of all events income and expenses for LSMNJ and 990 reporting
  7. Foundation Board
    1. Serves as the LSMNJ Board Asst. Secretary.
    2. Schedule and attend LSMNJ Foundation Board meetings
    3. Maintain the supporting documents and accurate record keeping for the LSMNJ Board
    4. Prepare and distribute minutes and other materials for the LSMNJ Foundation Board
  8. Special events
    1. Arrange and organize materials for special events (name badges, mailing lists, food and beverage, venue oversight, etc.)
    2. Assists in logistics of development events, programs, and activities.
    3. Oversee applications, registrations and reporting of social and gaming permits
  9. Maintains confidentiality of the following: LSMNJ Foundation Board, donor, employee, credit card, bank and estate information.
  10. Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the LSMNJ Code of Ethics and Business Integrity and the Donor Bill of Rights in
  11. Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility.


Experience and Skills:

Basic Qualifications


Education/Training/Certifications: Minimum of High School Diploma is required. Associates Degree or specialized training preferred


Skill(s): Strong communications skills. Proficient in Raisers Edge (RE), Detail oriented. Excellent proof-reading skills. Multi-tasking.


Preferred: Five or more years of progressive development experience, or related field knowledge. Experience with special events.
